About Feed the Bird Foundation
Feed the Bird Foundation, Inc., announces its formation. The Foundation is an Indiana nonprofit corporation that has applied for tax-exempt status under Section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1985, as amended, that uses the name, image and likeness (NIL) of Ball State University (Ball State) student-athletes to help them make a difference in the community in light of the NCAA “Name, Image and Likeness policy” approved on June 20, 2021 (as amended and modified from time to time) (the NCAA Policy).
The goal of the Feed the Bird Foundation is to enrich the student-athlete’s experience by helping them promote and support non-profit organizations. The athlete’s participation with the non-profit organizations helps create awareness and support for community needs through the use of the athlete’s name, image and likeness.
The Foundation is independent from Ball State University and raises its own funds to support activities. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors and is actively managed by its President Dave Heeter and Treasurer/Secretary James Blackwell.
